Delete Your MyChessRating Account

This page explains how to delete your MyChessRating (My Chess Rating Tracker) account and the data linked to it. Deletion works the same way for guest accounts and for accounts signed in with Google, Apple, or email.

Delete in the app

Android

  1. Open My Chess Rating.
  2. Tap the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm with Delete in the "Delete account permanently?" dialog.

iPhone

  1. Open My Chess Rating.
  2. Tap the Settings tab.
  3. Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm with Delete.

The account is deleted right away and the app signs you out. Uninstalling the app alone does not delete the account.

Request deletion without the app

Send an email to av.vinokurov@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account". Include the email you signed in with (Google, Apple, or email sign-in), or, for a guest account, the public Chess.com or Lichess username you added in the app. Please send it from the sign-in email when you can; otherwise we may ask you to confirm the request. We delete the account within 30 days and reply when it is done.

What is deleted

  • Your profile and sign-in identities (email, Google or Apple account id, password hash, guest device id) and login sessions.
  • Linked Chess.com and Lichess usernames.
  • Synced games, ratings, opening and daily stats, and weekly report snapshots.
  • Rating goals, Daily Three practice history, streaks, and app activity days.
  • Notification devices, push tokens, and notification preferences.
  • Our copy of your Pro subscription status.
  • App data stored on the device you delete from.

What may be kept

  • Feedback messages you sent from the app are kept without a link to your account. If you want them removed as well, say so in your deletion email.
  • Apple and Google keep their own purchase records. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions (play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions) or in your Apple ID settings.
  • Your games and ratings remain public on Chess.com and Lichess; MyChessRating does not control those services.
  • Data is removed from our active database immediately. Copies in our hosting provider's backups are overwritten as those backups expire.
